Foxtail Coffee Co. mural collaboration, Orlando Florida.

What a fantastic experience that was. Firstly, a HUGE Thank You to Jess & Chris, owners and artists of Mlynn Creative, for asking me to collaborate on the mural. It was an absolute honour and privilege to work with such beautiful souls.

Jess, Chris and Kate all mural artists laughing out loud whilst sat on a bench in front of their mural, trying to take a photo.

Mlynn Creative are the preferred mural artists for Foxtail Coffee Co. projects and has built a strong working relationship with the company's VP of franchising. In November 2025, they contacted me to see if I’d be up for a collab somewhere slightly warmer than the UK, and obviously, I didn’t hesitate to say yes!

Fast forward to January 2026, and I was on a flight to Orlando. I spent just under two weeks with the ladies, but it wasn’t all business! They eased me in gently on day one with a trip to Disney World. I mean, talk about a childhood dream come true. I even met my favourite character, Tigger! We park hopped from Animal Kingdom, through EPCOT, finishing in the Magic Kingdom.

Day two was back to business, and we hit the job site ready to paint the 30m2 mural. Foxtail Coffee Co. supplied the mural design, so all we had to do was execute it.  We got stuck in getting the space ready and setting up the scaffolding and equipment.

Day one mural prep fully underway

Jess used the Meta Quest VR headset to project the design onto the wall. It’s not something I had used before, but it was super smooth and helped speed up the design placement to no end. Even the client had a go and was able to see their design live on the wall before we opened the tin of paint.

We then popped to the local Home Depot to stock up on Behr paint. First time using this brand, and I was very impressed. A huge variety of colours available to be mixed, and I would say our UK equivalent would be the Dulux Trade brand. They even give you FREE tin openers there. (simple pleasures!)

Having never been inside a Home Depot before, I got a little carried away and stocked up on Zibra brushes whilst I was there. Something we don’t currently have much access to in the UK, other than via Amazon. I also bought a cool product by Ryobi. A compact wall laser level, which was genius, and a lifesaver when planning the sunbeam lines.

We were obviously there to paint, and we did some super long days, but we also had a good old giggle. It’s so important to enjoy what you do, especially when your mural is physically and mentally exhausting at times. We laughed hard on many occasions. We also lost our marbles a few times through sheer exhaustion. I evoked memories for the girls with my 90’s Brit Pop playlist (Spice Girls, S-Club, the usual), and they shared their awesome country playlist with me.

Although I have painted larger murals by m2, I haven’t painted at such a height before. Even having completed my MEWP training did not prepare me for the static scaffolding, which at times did not feel so static, let me tell you. Anyway, I quickly got over the fear of being nearly 3 metres off the ground with a full tin of paint, and cracked on.

Completed mural

We wrapped on day five and celebrated with a steak dinner! It had been a wonderful week of painting and sightseeing. I was gutted that my time was coming to an end. I had a few days to explore myself and decided to visit the Titanic Artifact Museum, including their new virtual reality tour of the ship. Well worth a visit if you like history and are visiting Orlando.

I experienced so many firsts on this project, from painting with Behr products, working at height and managing different drying temperatures. (It’s always raining in the UK, so we don’t have that issue!) It was all experience; I am grateful to say I now have. Some say it might have been a long way to travel ‘just to paint’, but opportunities like this do not come around every day. This is now my second international mural, and I certainly hope it won’t be my last. *Manifesting my next collaboration hard!

Collaboration, not Competition. Every. Single. Time

Thanks again for having me, ladies.
